Army Beats Navy After Late, Old-School Touchdown Followed By Last-Second FG Miss
Army has its first win streak against Navy in 20 years after a 14-13 win in a snow-soaked game that resembled the sport’s earthbound origins more than perhaps any other game played this season.
Black Knights quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw stuffed in a one-yard touchdown run with five minutes left in the game that proved to be the deciding score, as a heroic drive led by Navy’s Malcolm Perry—one that included Perry rushing 12 yards for a first down on a fourth-down broken play—fell apart with two Midshipmen penalties that forced kicker Bennett Moehring to attempt a 48-yard field goal that went wide as time expired.
Army’s win last year broke a 14-year Navy win streak in the rivalry; today’s game marks the best string of performances by Army since the Black Knights put five wins in a row over Navy from 1992-1996.
A total of three passes were attempted in the game.
