Auburn WR Malcolm Simmons arrested for domestic assault

Auburn sophomore wide receiver Malcolm Simmons was arrested on domestic assault charges involving strangulation or suffocation, according to Lee County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office records posted online Wednesday night.
As of Thursday morning, Simmons was no longer listed on the county jail record as an inmate.
Simmons' bond was set at $20,000, and his arrest was the second for the Tigers' football program in two weeks. The Tigers dismissed linebacker D'Angelo "DJ" Barber following his arrest on three drug-related charges.
Simmons had a huge impact as a freshman with four touchdowns in 2024. He returned a punt for a score and had three TD catches among his 40 receptions for 451 yards.
He's expected to be a starter for Auburn in 2025 along with Georgia Tech transfer Eric Singleton Jr.
