Blogdom's Best: Atlanta Braves
This image was lost some time after publication. More than any other sport, baseball lends itself to individual blog obsession. Every Major League Baseball team has several blogs obsessed with chronicling the ins-and-outs of everything. Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each team. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours even) for selection, just let us know at [email protected]. Today: The Atlanta Braves.
We can never figure out whether or not to feel bad for Braves fans. Sure, they get to make the postseason every season, but they do so in the most bland, vanilla, tedious way every year. (This season, ironically enough, was an exception.) And when they actually get there, they completely forget how they got there and crap out. Which is worse: Never making the postseason — and therefore never getting your hopes up — or having them crushed with depressing regularity? We can't decide.
3. Talking Chop. If you're looking for a mean, angry, nasty tone, you're in the wrong place. This is an excellent resource for devoted Braves fans. They do exist, you know. 2. Tomahawk. For a team with the postseason struggles the Braves have had, this site has remained optimistic, even bullish, about the team in the future. With 14 straight division titles, it's difficult to argue. 1. Braves Journal. Responsible for the great ESPN most loathsome personalities bracket — which we'll be checking in on later today — but also the final word in all things Braves.
