Cardinals trade RHP Andre Granillo to Nationals for RHP George Soriano

Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images The St. Louis Cardinals acquired George Soriano from the Washington Nationals for Andre Granillo on Tuesday in a trade of right-handed relief pitchers.
Soriano, 26, was 2-0 last season with one save, an 8.35 ERA, 19 walks and 36 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings over 24 relief appearances for the Miami Marlins.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Soriano has a career record of 3-1 with three saves, a 5.95 ERA, 55 walks and 117 strikeouts in 118 innings over 72 regular-season games (one start) for Miami (2023-25).
Baltimore selected Soriano off waivers from Miami on Nov. 5, the Atlanta Braves did the same on Jan. 9 when the Orioles waived him, and the Nationals followed the pattern on Jan. 30.
Granillo, 25, went 1-0 with one save, a 4.71 ERA, seven walks and 18 strikeouts in 21 innings over 14 relief appearances as a rookie in 2025.
St. Louis selected Granillo in the 14th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
