Chloe Kim Gets Gold, Does Back-To-Back 1080s In Victory-Lap Third Run
Chloe Kim lived up to the hype during the women’s halfpipe final, putting forth a gold-medal performance on her very first run of the day. With a score of 93.75 there, the 17-year-old American easily jumped out to first place, and no one managed to catch her for the rest of the event:
By the time she geared up for her third run, first place was already hers, but she brought out her best for her victory lap, anyway—and managed to best her score from the first run, besting that 93.75 with a 98.25 as she managed to land back-to-back 1080s.
Kim even took some time to tweet about food in between runs. What a cool teen.
Jiayu Liu of China took silver with an 89.75 and Kim’s USA teammate Arielle Gold took bronze with an 85.75.
