Chris Gatling Sentenced To 2.5 Years In Prison For Fraud
Photo credit: Scottsdale police department Two years ago, former NBA All-Star Chris Gatling was charged with fraud, aggravated identity theft, and forgery. He was accused of running a network of online businesses that illegally charged people’s credit cards without them knowing about it. Yesterday, he was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to partially reduced charges.
The Arizona Attorney General’s Office says Gatling collected $155,000 from 12 people between October 2014 and February 2015. Gatling’s scam involved setting up a telemarketing service that targeted senior citizens and sold them fictitious websites while promising that they would make thousands of dollars.
In 2013, Gatling was sentenced to four years probation for squatting in a home that wasn’t his.
