Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn Images Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn said he will "take it into Monday" with respect to the availability of wide receiver Deebo Samuel for Monday night's game against the visiting Chicago Bears.
While Quinn kept the door ajar in regard to Samuel (heel) on Saturday, he said fellow wideouts Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin/knee) will not play against the Bears (2-2). McLaurin will miss his third consecutive contest for the Commanders (3-2), while Brown will sit out his fourth in a row.
Samuel, 29, has 30 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns in five games in his first season with Washington.
He played his first six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, who selected him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro first-team honors in 2021.
McLaurin, 30, had played in 72 consecutive games before injuring his quad during the third quarter of a 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 21.
McLaurin entered the season with little on-field preparation following a protracted holdout that ended Aug. 25 when he signed a three-year contract extension. He has 10 catches for 149 yards in three games this season.
Brown, 29, was on the receiving end of the memorable Hail Mary against the Bears last season, his lone touchdown in 2024.
He has three catches for 36 yards in two games this season.
