Dion Waiters Is Rich Now And I've Been Brutally Owned
A little over one year ago, I wrote a blog post about Dion Waiters signing with the Miami Heat on a one-year, $2.9 million deal after turning down a qualifying offer worth $6.8 million from the Thunder. That blog had a shit-eating grin of a headline— Dion Waiters Handled His Free Agency Like He Handles Open Corner Threes—and the body of the post served as an elbow into the ribs of the knowing readers. Can you believe this guy overvalued himself by millions of dollars and then made a bet on himself?
Well, now don’t I look stupid:
Last season Waiters became a more efficient version of himself, helped turn the Heat into one of the most exciting teams in the league, penned the year’s best piece of sportswriting, and then got the big contract nobody but him believed he could secure. Dion Waiters is living his best life and I’m a corncob who eats trash.
