ESPN Now Doing To NASCAR What It Does To Everything Else
This Friday, the much-hyped — so unusual for them — NASCAR On ESPN series kicks off. We're not inherent NASCAR fans, so we're not sure how the light, delicate ESPN is going to affect the sport's hardcore fans. But it's safe to say those fans are a little nervous.
Yeah, the NASCAR fans have all kinds of concerns, not least of which revolve around the non-NASCAR-expert ESPN staffers assigned to cover the sport, including Brent Musburger, Suzy Kolber and Brad Daugherty. But NASCARians are saving their fiercest vitriol for Erik Kuselias, who they say "is just lost."
So, yeah, welcome to the party, NASCAR: You took the money from ESPN to show your sport. Welcome to the downside.
