Even The Rubin Kazan Manager Is Burning Chelsea
Chelsea are struggling mightily, in 15th place in the Premier League and beset by infighting and reports that coach José Mourinho is about to be fired. But today they sunk to a new low, seen as such a laughingstock across Europe that even the manager of a mediocre Russian club is ripping on them.
Rubin Kazan lost to Liverpool 1-0 in the Europa League at home, in a match that wasn’t as close as the scoreline indicates. Rubin Kazan barely got a single decent shot off all game, but afterwards manager Valeriy Chaly was nonplussed. In fact, he liked his team’s performance, and described it within the context of Liverpool’s recent 3-1 victory over Chelsea.
Via the Press Association:
“In the second half we looked more composed but we have a problem with the composition so the young players had a chance,” [Chaly] said.
“For them, it’s an experience. Liverpool are a good team and showed that against Chelsea – so, we are still better than Chelsea.”
Damn, what’s next, is the Bolivian national team manager about to take a shot at Mourinho?
