Frost F Britta Curl-Salemme earns fine, 1-game suspension

Mandatory Credit: Amber Searls-Imagn Images Minnesota Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme was suspended one game and fined $250 after a pair of incidents during a playoff game Saturday of a PWHL semifinal series against the Montreal Victoire.
The PWHL safety committee revealed that Curl-Salemme was fined for pulling the Victoire's Abby Roque to the ice by her facial protector as the pair earned minor penalties for roughing in the second period.
The one game-suspension was levied after Curl-Salemme was called for an illegal check to the head of Kaitlin Willoughby later in the second period and was given a major penalty and a game misconduct. The committee found that Curl-Salemme made no attempt to play the puck and that contact to the head was avoidable.
It is the second $250 fine in Curl-Salemme's two-year PWHL career after also earning one in March. It is also the fourth one-game suspension during her time in the league, including two previous suspensions for an illegal check to the head.
The Frost took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series with a 5-4 overtime victory. Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday at Montreal, with Game 3 set to take place at Minnesota on Thursday.
