Joe Thomas Is Also Frustrated With The Browns' Offensive Line
Getty Images/Eric Espada After Cody Kessler was forced from Sunday’s 24-9 loss to the Steelers because of concussion protocol, Terrelle Pryor called the continued hits on the Browns’ rotating cast of quarterbacks “bullcrap,” while venting his frustration that the offensive line was allowing too many tackles.
Pryor’s beef was mostly with management, and All-Pro tackle Joe Thomas shares Pryor’s dissatisfaction. After yesterday’s game, he echoed Pryor’s sentiments with a not-so-subtle dig at the people responsible for personnel decisions.
Asked if there needed to be a new influx of talent, Thomas countered, “Well, we lost a couple really good players, I think the best at their position,” referencing the Brown’s decision to let Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz leave as free agents in the offseason. “You’ve got to lie in the bed that you’ve made,” said Thomas.
The Browns are now 0-11, and it’s getting very hard to envision them winning a game before the end of the season. Whatever strategy the front office was hoping to execute by going cheap on the offensive line, it isn’t working.
