Michael Brennan DQ'd after first round at Farmers

Brennan posted a 2-under-par 70 on the North Course at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif., registering four birdies and two bogeys.
Brennan broke Model Local Rule G-11, which states that players may only use yardage books officially approved by the USGA Rules Committee. Handwritten notes are only allowed if they are derived from personal experience on the course.
Brennan, 23, turned pro in 2024 and earned his first PGA Tour win last October at the Bank of Utah Championship.
