NBC Philadelphia Airs Roy Halladay Tribute Video Of Him Giving Up A Bunch Of Homers
Philadelphia media is awash with remembrances this morning of Roy Halladay, and rightly so. The late pitcher spent four of his 16 big league seasons in Philadelphia, including two incredible ones in 2010 and 2011. He’s a beloved member of the Phillies.
When NBC Philadelphia got former Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. on the phone this morning to talk about Halladay’s life, the station aired a tribute video behind the conversation. For some reason, that tribute consisted of a series of batters hitting home runs off Halladay.
Not a huge deal. But very weird! If the juxtaposition was a way to make Philly fans laugh after a tough day, well, consider it a success.
NBC 10 did not immediately return a request for comment.
