NFL Lifts Dion Jordan's 4-Game Suspension, Suspends Him 4 More Games
Back in July, the NFL suspended Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan four games for taking "banned stimulants" that violated the league's performance-enhancing substance policy. Good news! The league lifted Jordan's ban today, after two games. Bad news! The NFL suspended Jordan four more games.
Jordan will be eligible to return to Miami's active roster on Oct. 20. From the press release on the team's site:
Per the terms of the Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances that took effect on Wednesday, the four-game suspension previously imposed on Dion Jordan of the Miami Dolphins has been lifted.
However, Jordan now has been suspended without pay for the next four games of the 2014 NFL season for violating the NFL's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse.
What the hell happened? Jordan's previous suspension was lifted due to the new NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances, passed Wednesday. But Jordan flunked a second test, this time violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He'll miss six games total.
