Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports Tampa Bay outfielder Josh Lowe suffered another setback in his injury-marred 2024 season when he exited Wednesday night's game against the visiting Boston Red Sox after 1 1/2 innings because of "right side tightness," according to the Rays.
Lowe started in center field and took an awkward swing in striking out against Boston starter Brayan Bello in the first inning. He was replaced by Jonny DeLuca when his turn came to bat in the second inning.
The Rays said Lowe's injury status is day to day. He has been dealing with injuries to his right hamstring, right oblique and left hip since spring training.
Lowe, 26, was playing in just his 14th game this season. He struck out in the first inning on Wednesday and is batting .240 with two home runs and three RBIs. He has spent his entire career with the Rays, making his major league debut in 2021 and batting .271 with 24 homers and 99 RBIs in 203 games over parts of four seasons.
