Mandatory Credit: Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports Cincinnati Reds right fielder Jake Fraley left Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres after being hit on the right hand by a Joe Musgrove pitch in the bottom of the first.
Fraley remained in the game after being tended to by Reds trainer Sean McQueeney. But Fraley was removed from the game prior to the top of the second.
After Cincinnati manager David Bell informed home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt that Stuart Fairchild would come in and play center and Will Benson would move over to right, Bell made his way back to the Reds' dugout and smashed a chair against the bat rack.
Fraley, who turns 29 Saturday, was hitting .272 through 35 games this season after a 2023 season during which he hit .256 with 15 home runs and 21 stolen bases for Cincinnati.
