Referee Ejected From Game For Allegedly Trying To Punch Head Coach
We’ve heard a lot lately about football players attacking officials, but refs appeared to turn the table yesterday as an official was ejected from yesterday’s East Mississippi Community College-Itawamba Community College game for allegedly trying to slug EMCC’s head coach.
While the names of the two schools accurately suggest this is junior college football, consider that both EMCC and ICC are major feeders to SEC and other big-time college football programs as non-qualifying players attempt to earn their way into Division I. So we were a bit surprised to see tweets like the following pop up yesterday:

The above video isn’t exactly helpful, though the commentary can at least reflect the absurd nature of what they were witnessing.
