Report: Giants' Jay Bromley Accused Of Attempting To Rape A Woman And Hit Her With His Car
According to multiple reports this morning, New York Giants defensive lineman Jay Bromley is being investigated by the NYPD for attempted rape. Apparently, the 23-year-old Bromley met a 26-year-old woman on Instagram, then arranged to meet up with her at the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel early this morning. Here’s the New York Daily News with more details:
Once in the room, the woman performed oral sex on Bromley but then didn’t want to go further, sources said.
“At that point, something took place that she didn’t want to take place,” a police source with knowledge of the investigation said.
The woman claimed that Bromley tried to rape her.
After they left the hotel room, the woman claims that Bromley hit her with his car after refusing to drive her home. The New York Post reports that police came to the scene at around 6:15 this morning, and that nobody has been arrested yet. A Giants spokesperson confirmed that there’d been an incident:
“We are aware of the situation and will continue to monitor it,” said a Giants spokesman. “We have notified the league office per the league’s protocol. We will have no further comment as we understand this is an ongoing investigation.”
Bromley, a third-round pick in 2014, played all 16 games for the Giants this year and had 36 tackles. We’ll update this post if more information becomes available today.
