Cards RB Jonathan Dwyer Arrested In Domestic-Violence Incident
Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested today on domestic violence allegations following an incident with his wife.
Phoenix police confirmed Dwyer's arrest, and said he was booked on charges including including aggravated assault causing a fracture, aggravated assault involving a minor, criminal damage, and preventing the use of a phone during an emergency.
Police said Dwyer was arrested Wednesday on allegations stemming from an incident that occurred in late July at a southeast Phoenix home and involved a 27-year-old woman and an 18-month-old boy.
Police said the woman left the state with the child shortly after the incident.
Phoenix police investigators took a report on the incident on Sept. 11 and detectives have been seeking out-of-state medical records and interviewing witnesses, according to a Phoenix police spokesman.
The news of Dwyer's arrest was first reported by Tyler Baldwin, sports anchor at 3TV Phoenix.
KTAR reported that Dwyer was present at the Cardinals' facility today, but was pulled from practice to be questioned by Phoenix PD at police headquarters.
If these reports are accurate, the NFL can reset its "[] Days Since Last Domestic-Violence Arrest" counter.
