Rockies Pitcher Jon Gray Smashes 467-Foot Dinger
The Colorado Rockies got some unlikely offense early in Wednesday’s game against the Reds, as young and tall starter Jon Gray went yard in the second inning. Gray sent the ball 467 feet deep into center field, and he got off a bit of a Sammy Sosa hop exiting the batter’s box.
Even at Coors Field, and even in a year that’s seen a jump in home runs, this is a pretty impressive tater, one that’s unprecedented on the year:
The Rockies need things to continue to go their way like this. They’re trying to reverse a dreadful cold streak that’s seen them drop 11 of their last 13.
