Sean Payton On Spectacular Self-Own: "It Was Good Playoff Fun"

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton seems to have a knack for getting cocky at precisely the wrong moments. In December, he threw the “Choke!” sign at Falcons running back Devonta Freeman while Atlanta in the middle of a scoring drive. It comes as no surprise, then, that Payton really played the hell out of himself right before the Minneapolis Miracle.

Vikings fans have spent the season doing a “Skol” clap during games, a cool celebration that they got from Iceland’s men’s soccer team. Just before Stefon Diggs scored the winning touchdown, Payton was spotted mocking the home fans with a “Skol” clap of his own, and the moment was captured by Getty photographer Adam Bettcher:

“There was just a group of fans; it was good playoff fun,” Payton said.
