The Cardinals Lost Their 31st Game
Photo credit: [object Object] /Getty Images St. Louis managed just three hits and squandered a marvelous Michael Wacha performance in losing to the Texas Rangers last night, 1-0.
Wacha became the first Cardinals pitcher to lose seven straight decisions since Kip Wells in 2007, as he pitched into the eighth inning and only surrendered the single run via a Rougned Odor homer. Cole Hamels struck out six and walked three in his 7 2/3 innings of shutout pitching for the A.L. West-leading Rangers.
The loss drops St. Louis to 35-31 on the season, good for second place in the National League Central division.
