There Was A Hysterically Lopsided Blowout In The WNBA Last Night

The Minnesota Lynx came into last night’s home tilt against the Indiana Fever at 21-5—the best record in the WNBA—and with an 11-2 mark at home. The Indiana Fever, at 9-19, had the second-worst record in the WNBA, and learned Friday that they’d  lost fourth-leading scorer Tiffany Mitchell for the season with a knee injury. This was never going to be a particularly close game, but hot damn!

Minnesota’s 37-0 run started late in the first quarter, with the Lynx already up 17 points, and stretched well into the second quarter. Here is a look at the carnage that will surely churn your guts:

The second half was, uhh, vaguely competitive? The Lynx still stretched their lead in both the third and fourth quarters, but nowhere close to as decisively as they dominated the first half, and the 111-52 margin probably hides just how brutally lopsided this game really was. Still, the 59-point margin is the largest in WNBA history.
