Tiger Woods Rages Against The Dying Of The Light Or Whatever With Third-Round 66

While it may not be a performance worthy of the Golf Channel’s insane promo, it was nonetheless quite bitchin’, and leaves open the possibility of Tiger challenging the leaders on a suddenly much more interesting Sunday.
Tiger started his move with a birdie on the par-4 fourth hole, then birdied again on the par-5 sixth. He played the front nine bogey-free, and capped it with this huge birdie putt on the ninth to get to three-under on his round:
He followed that with this killer approach shot on the par-4 10th, setting up another birdie putt:
Tiger didn’t record his first bogey of the day until the par-3 16th, and finished his round five-under. At one point Saturday afternoon he’d taken a share of the lead, and is currently just three shots back of the leader. It’s been a day of low scores at Carnoustie—Yusaku Miyazato and Francesco Molinari shot 65 each, and Justin Rose shot 64—but no push gets the blood pumping quite like a blistering round from Tiger Woods. Sunday should be fun.
