Tim Hudson Suffers Gruesome Ankle Injury, Taken Off Field On Cart
Tim Hudson was cruising against the Mets tonight until Eric Young brought an end to his night and, possibly, his season.
Young came down hard on Hudson's ankle as the Braves hurler covered first after a hard grounder. Hudson's ankle bent to a sickening degree, and Young appeared to be in tears as he apologized to the Atlanta veteran as he was strapped onto a cart and taken off the field. (Pay close attention to how the Citi Field crowd reacts to seeing the replay.)
Update: We've subbed out our video for MLB.com's, which doesn't really show you what happened. For a GIF—warning: gruesome— go here:
Update (10:52 p.m.): Hudson suffered a right ankle fracture, according to the Braves. [SNY]
