This was the first of the two games Mourinho reportedly couldn’t blow if he had any hopes of sticking around for the rest of the season. More dropped points at home against an inferior opponent surely would’ve made the manager’s position untenable. At least we now know that Willian wasn’t the one who didn’t want to win.
